About

Hello, my name is James Lawrence

I'm a technology evangelist, entrepreneur and product designer. I currently serve as CEO of Mogiv, a mobile and cloud-based giving technology for faith-based organizations.

When time permits, I also consult to churches in the areas of strategic growth, process reorganization, stewardship, and technology innovation.

Prior to Mogiv I served as CIO & Chief of Staff at the Rock Church San Diego, one of the largest churches in America. As Chief of Staff I lead the Executive Leadership Team and oversaw technology innovation.

Prior to joining the Rock Church, I co-founded GrepNet, a software engineering company that commercialized in-memory database technologies and built software products for global companies and the US Government. GrepNet was acquired in 1999 and was again acquired by McAfee/Intel in 2012 after changing its name to Nitro Security.

I also served three years in full-time ministry with YoungLife, an international youth outreach organization.

I currently sit on the board of the San Diego Half Marathon, one of San Diego's premiere running events. I live in Carlsbad, Ca. with my wife and three children.
